About Subject and Classrooms
- As a writer and an educator, I believe students should know how to operate within and effectively challenge the rules of standardized English. Often the upholding of SE comes at the cost of suppressing the validity of other valid ways of speaking and writing. I want students to embrace their own language history and find their own personal writing voice and style on the page. Students will learn how to craft a piece considering audience and genre, create and support their own theses, and weave in expert ideas with their own original thoughts and perspectives; these considerations will help them identify what writing choices they make are working and how to revise for future drafts.
About Tutor
- I'm pursuing an MFA in creative writing at City College of New York and will graduate next fall. I also graduated from SUNY Oneonta in 2017 with bachelor of science degrees in psychology and philosophy with a minor in professional writing.
