Steigenberger Otelcilik kökenli Kurt Merter Almanya’da doğdu ve yiyecek içecek üzerine tüm tahsilini Almanya’da tamamladı. Uzun yıllar havacılık ve otelcilik sektöründe üst düzey yönetici olarak çalıştı. Daha sonra kendi restoranını açmaya karar verdiğinde restoranın adı olarak iki kızlarının isimlerinden esinlendi.
